The meeting took place after the first half of the project lifetime. It could count on the participation of all project partners, including Heliopolis University, which recently joined the consortium. The meeting gave the opportunity to partners to effectively share information and update on the running activities: management issues and activities contents were discussed.
In the last months, the main effort has been devoted to the development of the new MSc program on Green Innovation and Entrepreneurship within the Egyptian Universities. Based on the results obtained by the Market Needs Analysis, each university has presented the Curriculum and Syllabus, starting from the framework described in the proposal and developing one or more tracks (Green Technologies, Entrepreneurship, Sustainable Cities, Sustainable Communities), according to the own needs and in line with the strategy of the institution.
Following the definition of the MSc, the consortium is now involved in the development of the contents. All the partners agreed to contribute to this activity, providing material of lectures that might fit with the contents of the courses of the Core Module and taking advantage of the experience gained during the different training sessions.
Partners were also updated on the other activities which are going on in the project: the upgrading of academic laboratories with the focus on green technologies, the training weeks to the Egyptian professors, the establishment of an Online Learning Management System and the accreditation of the GIEP programs. Dissemination activities and as well as the sustainability plan were also discussed.
Partners acknowledged the positive results that the project has been achieving and planned the next meeting in Alexandria in October 2014.
